AED (Anti-Explosive Decompression) fluoroelastomer (Viton®) o-rings are specialized o-rings that are designed to prevent explosive decompression in aerospace applications. AED certification is a guarantee that these o-rings meet the rigorous standards required for aerospace applications and are able to prevent explosive decompression in the event of a failure of the sealing system. They are commonly used in aerospace industry, as well as other industries that require high safety standards such as oil and gas and chemical processing.
